Falls focus groups invite - Norfolk

Dear All
North Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group (NN CCG) is a local membership organisation led by family doctors that is responsible for planning and buying healthcare so that it is available for local people when they need it. The CCG is looking to improve the work it does around preventing people from falling and caring for those who do. Injuries caused by falling, especially among older people, can seriously impact the quality of people’s lives and use a lot of NHS resources.
To help with this NN CCG is planning to hold some focus groups to look at this issue in more depth and are recruiting interested people who have had a fall or who knows/cares for someone who has, to join one of the focus group sessions detailed below. Travel expenses will be paid and refreshments will be available.
The group will be looking at:
· The way urgent care services support people who have fallen
· The role of GPs in supporting people who have fallen or who are at risk of falling
· The role of voluntary and private sector agencies in supporting people who have fallen or who are at risk of falling
· Patient information about preventing falls and where to go to get help
The focus groups are on Monday 8 December at the Aylsham Care Trust Centre, Aylsham, at:
1. 10am – 12 noon
2. 2pm – 4pm
3. 5pm – 7pm
If you are free on the 8 of December and would like to take part, please get in touch.
To book a place please contact Louise Smith on 01263 738100 or louise.smith76@nhs.net. Please tell Louise which of the group times suits you best.
