LANCASHIRE Police is urging residents to be wary of a mobile phone scam.

A spokesman for the force said phone users should take action if they receive a message telling them somebody has uploaded their pictures to an online profile as they could be malware.
It is recommended that any victims of this ransomware complete a manufacture reset of their device and then reinstall their apps afterwards. This could cause a potential loss of data such as photos, if they have not already been backed up.

Anybody who thinks they have been a victim should contact www.actionfraud.police.uk/report_fraud
