I well remember the worry we had when we were looking for a care home for my grandmother, we lost count of the number of homes we looked round ... one we never set foot inside as a soon as the front door was open we had that "smell". We eventually found one outside Norwich in a small village , it meant a long car ride out there but she was very happy, they let her do a bit of washing and ironing. We took her on trips in the country in the car, we visited once a week - the care home told us we were about the only ones to visit anyone in the care home!. The second wasn't as good, they did have the "thing" of mixing up the clothes - in spite of the labels we put in her clothes ...

It is such a scary subject. Luckily both parents are still very chipper and fit if rather mad!!

Very difficult thing to have to do.
