The only time I saw anything like this was years ago when I got off the bus near where I live.

There was an F15 Eagle who was going round in a tight circle over the city chasing his own contrail .. eventually after several goes he caught up than broke away, leaving a "lasso" in the sky above Norwich which made the newspaper - PS it was a pink "lasso" as well as the sun was setting.

I have only ever seen starlings gathering once, years ago when i was helping set up the stall for a local aviation group and we were out at Taverham Garden Centre and in the direction of the city from there, we watched as this huge flock of starlings flew up and down and around ..wonderful to see, just glad I wasn't underneath it! sp0
