When I found my nan on 1911 census she was working in service, I checked the address on google maps and the house is still there. ju098

I like going on Street View and having a wander round where my ancestors came from, there is no way I would get round them all in person

been wondering about whether to subscribe to ancestry .com
its expensive but think it could help with a lot of family history I don't know about.
does anyone here subscribe to this , if so is it worth it.

I know of some free websites to get started on doing family tree if you are interested, I don't subscribe to Ancestry.co.uk but now and then they do a free 1911 census search.

it may be worth enquiring at the local library Liz, at ours (Lancashire), you can go and get help for several hours free to start you off tracing your family history

I get directions for travel on google maps, I talk face to face with family and friends abroad on SKype, I write letters using word, I play games, I shop and research & compare prices, I listen to music and download podcasts, I watch tv & catch-up & listen to radio, I upload and edit photos. It has opened up a whole new world for me!!!

I find phone numbers for shops and businesses on the internet.
