My friend who died yesterday didn't want to know the full extent of his deterioration.
He had been asked this by his doctors and opted not to know. His mum knew most of it I think. Even when we were at the hospital last week the doctors didn't commit to how poorly he really was.
I'm not sure I would want to know the full details. Enough that i could make arrangements etc but not the full details and complete truth.
I think that like the article says the more you know you are more like to go down hill quicker.
A big talking point I think.

I would not want to know, I deal with things better when they just hit me. Sometimes knowing makes you worse. tha22222 go90 hu****

I personally would want to know, my sister did and that allowed her to prepare herself for her death and that gave her the chance to say her goodbyes.

I would definitely want to know, it is really hard when either the dying person or the family are in denial, it is like treading on eggshells the whole time. A skilled Dr will ascertain how much a patient can take & give the prognosis accordingly

I would hope by the time I got that bad I would have got all my affairs in order, I couldn't honestly say what I would do - I hope I would have the courage to say yes I did want to know ... so I would be able to say all my goodbyes, though i think I might twig if everybody else suddenly turned up to visit me unexpectedly?
