If things were more joined up perhaps we wouldn't get these so-called "bed-blockers" of which Dad was once one.
One time he was stuck in Aylsham for rehab (so-called) and stuck in there an extra six weeks 'cause they couldn't find the care... They even tried to transfer him to Kelling as they wanted the bed ... did they seriously think i could fork out for a taxi there n back for six weeks?Dad was ina a real panci as well thinking he would stuck out there on his own for who knew how long.
I made a real stink about that .. in the end they found someone that was supposed to be temp, they were the two best paid carers that we had for over a year til he sadly passed away - we knew who was coming, when they were coming, n if they had to change we got rung up ... "carer heaven" ...

They need to do something because the left hand don't know what the right hand is doing.
My late mum was once stuck in hospital bed blocking for weeks and in the end I sorted it out.

I was once in hospital almost 2 weeks just with a broken leg, because they hadn't got the care package together to help us, even though I told them on the first day, I was a carer ( I was non-wt bearing 8wks).
