Stop unwanted sales or marketing calls  te te te

Silent calls

Many silent calls are generated by automatic dialling equipment in call centres, where more calls are made via 'automated diallers' than there are operators available to handle them. To help reduce silent sales or marketing calls, you can register your number with the Telephone Preference Service.

Register with the Telephone Preference Service at www.tpsonline.org.uk or by calling their automated registration number: 0845 070 0707.

I am with the TPS, but we still get automatic  & silent calls, but reduced in number, it doesn't deter the Asians either who say there is a fault with your computer. If you still get calls from a UK firm, just tell them you subscribe to the TPS & they should take you off their list

I've been registered for some time as well, it has reduced the calls quite a lot and we have caller display which helps.

It reduced a lot of calls - just get the odd silent call now, I also have an answerphone so if in doubt I wait for the voice then pick up

It does reduce the calls but does not stop them.

Haven't been in phone book for many years, if we get a call come up 'International out of area' we ignore it.

I had a thought, if you have removed yourself from the Phone book, have you also ticked the box to hide your details on the Election Roll?
It is most important to do both.
