We didn't have hair straightens when I was a teenager,it use to put sellotape on my hair if I wanted a straight piece cant remember if it worked or not when I took the sellotape off
My daughter Stephanie her hair straighten had broken you wouldn't have thought the world had ended to hear her moaning,she said she cant manage without them.

Since discovering straighteners I fully sympathise with her! When my first pair showed signs of going I bought another pair ready!!

I look like Simba's father if I don't straighten it!!

I used sellotape too Ann, not sure it was very effective though

A girl I knew who had very long hair, used a clothes iron on hers by putting her hair on the ironing board to do it.
