Who looks after the carer

Postby irenee » 05 Aug 2015, 09:34

I have to go for an hip operation soon I hope?

just wondered if there was any help and advice for

when the carer needs the care, I am sure it has been on

the forum before a long time ago but had not given it much thought.

My doctor said tell the social worker when I have the date of the operation.

It is all very worrying, kind regards Irenee

That is a worry for you Irenee, the social worker will hopefully help arrange/advise care when you have your op.

We have another member who is needing help, and I know that SS are arranging a paid carer to visit every day to get his wife dressed because he is unable to do it any more.

Hi Irenee. I dida blog on how I managed earlier this year when I had a hysterectomy. My advice is to plan for all contingencies. Have a detailed schedule of helpers ie family and friends. I filled the freezer with meals and set up a morrisons delivery service account. I felt so vulnerable when I was out pf action so the more planning and lusts I had was brilliant. Good luck and thinking of you xxxxx
