This time it’s the paper counterpart to the photocard driving licence.
It will no longer be issued to new applicants in a move by the DVLA which comes after the paper tax disc was scrapped in October last year.
Originally, drivers had a paper licence, then when the plastic photocard was introduced in 1998, the paper counterpart was retained to display details that could not be included on the card.
This included penalty points, driving disqualifications and provisional driving entitlement.
