Britain is likely to enjoy its hottest day of the year this week as a band of hot air from Europe sweeps in.

Known as the Spanish Plume, the weather phenomenon will mean the UK will feel like summer has started early for a few days.

The UK is likely to see its hottest day of the year so far on Thursday or Friday, when temperatures should reach around 22C.
