Care home owners charged with neglect in Preston

Postby annie » 30 Nov 2014, 09:33

Three workers at a Preston care home have been charged after an investigation found a 99-year-old was allegedly put in a scalding hot bath.

The woman was one of eight people with dementia allegedly mistreated at Briarwood Rest Home in Lostock Hall, Lancashire Police said.

Owners Indranee and Meghadeven Pumbien, and employee Niphawan Berry are accused of neglecting residents.

They have been bailed to appear before magistrates in Preston on 10 December.

Police launched their investigation after a district nurse reported seeing a resident being force-fed.
