Paddy took 2 stuffed dogs to the Antiques Roadshow


”Ooh”, said the presenter. “This is a very rare set produced by the celebrated Johns Brothers taxidermists who operated in London at the turn of the last century. Do you have any idea what they would fetch if they were in good condition?”

I used to have a stuffed dog .. it was a black labrador called "Inky" after a police dog in the TV Prog "Softly Softly" if you remember that? 

He used to eat anything that dropped on the floor, frozen peas, raw egg (minus the eggshell). He even went through a phase of trying to drink (and sometimes suceeding) in drinking the water from a mini-spin dryer - the water came out of a flattened pipe under which we put a plastic bowl to collect the water... if he had half a brain he would have realised it was way easier to drink out of the bowl !
