Temperatures could reach 27C on Friday and the weekend will be fine across most parts of the country as the high pressure weather system stays put
Britain will bask in temperatures hotter than Rio de Janeiro on Friday on what forecasters said could be the warmest day of the year so far.
As the summer heatwave continues, football fans in England will enjoy hotter weather than the national team who are in Brazil for the World Cup.
It could get as hot as 27C on Friday in the UK, while in Rio - where Roy Hodgson's team is based - it is expected to be around 25C.
Temperatures will still be over 20C (68F) over the weekend across most parts of the country, so conditions will be ideal for trips to the seaside, relaxing in the garden or firing up the barbeque ahead of England's first match against Italy on Saturday night.
And with the high pressure system lingering into next week, the dry and sunny weather shows no sign of abating.
