National Carers Award 2014
Your chance to say ‘thanks for caring’
LloydsPharmacy, in association with Carers UK, brings you The National Carers Award 2014. This is your chance to say ‘thanks for caring’ to the carer in your life.

Carers play a vital role in our society. There are more than six million unpaid carers in the UK, providing care for friends, neighbours, and family members. The equivalent cost to taxpayers would be £119 billion each year.

The National Carers Awards in June 2014 will honour our carers’ huge contribution to communities across the UK, and highlight their joys and challenges.

Nominate a National Carer of the Year
Show the carers in your life that you care and nominate them as a National Carer of the Year.

We need your help to find carers from all walks of life and all corners of the country, whose strength, patience and perseverance deserves special recognition. Do you know that special person who maybe works hard to juggle a career, family and perhaps support other carers? It could be your mum who is devoted to caring for your dad; a friend or colleague who cares for their neighbour; or your own partner who cares for you.

Whoever they are we want to hear about them and give them the recognition they deserve.

How to nominate
Now is your chance to say ‘thanks for caring’ to someone who’s made a difference! You can nominate a ‘Carer of the Year’ by completing the nomination form on this page and tell us their story in no more than 400 words.

The last date for receipt of nominations is 23.59 on Saturday 26th April 2014.

The prizes

Five Carers of the Year, and one guest each, will be invited to an Awards Gala at the London Marriott Hotel, Mayfair, on 10th June 2014.

Each will receive an all-expenses paid break to London, including a stay at a five-star Hotel selected by the organisers, and standard class train travel to and from London.

In addition, each finalist will receive a trophy and £1000 in high street vouchers.

The proceeds from the Awards Gala will be donated to Carers UK.

those that most deserve  this are unpaid 24/7 unrecognised family carers.

Thank you for remembering that Honey, it was The Great British Care Awards that I was unable to attend in 2011.
