You are partially right Wendy, Bill has a spinal cord stimulator that is attached with wire s into his spine but it has a rechargeable battery that will need replacing after around 8 years. This Aussie one says permanent, so I imagine it is a one off op, which will be much better, Bill has already had a replacement, which means an op each time.
