I well remember 1979 when the Harrier crashed in Wisbech as my Great-Aunt Ada still lived there at the time. It ended up crashing between three schools and a petrol station.. it could have been so much worse ...
When I read it had crashed in Ramnoth Road I was very relieved my Great-Aunt Ada had moved a few years previously to some sheltered housing in Elizabeth Terrace some way away. What I didn't know is that day she had gone to visit an old neighbour just two houses down from where the Harrier came down! We only found out what a close call she had when we got a letter from her a couple fo weeks later when she mentioned about there being a huge bang and everywhere in the bugalow was gocered in dust and dirt!
