I don't have an iPad, I do have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. I have tried getting into chat, but no luck, do you know if I can download an app that could let me do it?

My ipad is really slow now & when it conks I will be getting an android or windows one, Apple are far too expensive, so if it is just for ipad, I am afraid it wouldn't interest me at present

Annie sometimes like a computer restarting ipad may help, I learned this with using an ipod when they freeze, also check for Safari update in settings.

What I would suggest Annie is back up your ipad apps on icloud and then restore it to factory settings, then import apps from icloud, make sure you check Safari is up to date afterwards.

It's not complicated at all Annie, I'll try and post some easy instructions, I've recently done this for someone and it took me no time at all.

Back up ipad on icloudopen Settings app from the Home screen
tap on iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage under the Storage section > tap on the device that says This iPad > Under the Back up Options section, you'll see a list of apps and how much data they are storing in iCloud.
It's self explanetry when you get started.
After restoring ipad to factory settings and set up go to Settings menu > General > Software Update to make sure Safari is updated.
Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup, then look at the bottom of the screen for the message Last Backup, followed by the date of the latest backup.
