because of an act of kindness. va&&&&
Last week we had some lovely topics.
I often think it is too easy to remember the negative acts that we have experienced. I thought it might be nice to remember an act of kindness someone gave you that was totally unexpected or came at the right time for a situation you were in or something just out of the blue.
Can't wait to read about your experiences.

I think this is an excellent topic, but I will have to give it some thought.
There have been many people in my lifetime who have been kind to me.

When I came out of hospital after my neck op in January, a carer who I exchange letters with but have never met, sent me a scarf. It was totally unexpected but so very kind and thoughtful. hu****

something happened today.
Recently I have been in contact with Air Force services to find out where my father was stationed in the war in the 1940's.
They sent me a letter asking for £30 so I phoned and left a message for them to ring me back.
A lady rang me back today, and she was ever so kind, and she went out of her way to help me and gave me information that they had about my father, so there was no need for me to have to send off the money.
The lady did not have spend time with me, but what she did has given me a lot of comfort and it has meant such a great deal to me, more than she could ever know.

When I had my Macmillan retirement party , one of my tutors, from many years before came to wish me well & she brought a miniature silver frame with a tiny cross stitch she had done for me. I treasure it, what a lovely kind lady she was, to think of me.

Just found this ...
A person who sticks in my mind, and I think about him more with the 100th anniv of WW1 coming up is Great-Great Uncle Percy, my Great-Great Aunt Ada's Hubby. I must have been about 3 and a half as he passed away in 1962. He had been in WW1 and had been gassed, hardly ever saw him as he used to be ill in bed with lung problems a lot of the time. I do remember one visit to see them in Wisbech.. Mum n Dad had bought a little practice handwriting book in Woolies in the town. Me n Uncle Percy sat in the lounge by a window in their little terrace house next to the Wisbech to Upwell "Tramway". he drew me some lovely little sketches of daffodils in the book. He drew them very well, how I wish I still had that little book as a reminder.
