I know where the squirrel keeps its nuts !

For the past few weeks I have had the pleasure of seeing a little squirrel sitting in a tree nibbling at nuts in a tree. He/she/it has chattered at me at times when it caught me watching it, warning me off with some chit-chattering in case I had designs on its supply ...

I really should have paid more attention ... it turns out to be a walnut tree, and some of my colleagues will be having free walnuts for Xmas !

I have found where the squirrel keeps its emergency stash. There is a big plant pot with a very small laurel in it - if you look closely you can see half/part buried walnuts.

Facinating to watch it feed, I would have loved to see it burying the nuts in the pot.

They are interesting creatures Liz, Milo and I love to watch them, when we see them in the church yard. We have seen three today, on the ground, foraging for food. go90 tha22222

They are so sweet. I've never seen where they keep their stash before. You are lucky.

After carefully checking the walnut tree at work as I didn't want to possibly get caught by an angry squirrel, I took this pic of the plant pot with the nuts ... the pale round things at the front of the pot are the walnuts...
