Anticipation

Postby JaneJ » 09 Oct 2015, 12:35

This may be just me but has anticipation and the excitement of a package or event a thing of the past?

I was watching adverts and it was all same day or next day delivery. when I used to order something years ago there was the build up of excitement that my new clothes or whatever item would be here soon. Coming home and rushing to see if it has arrived.

With all this fast delivery that has gone from, here in a few days to the next day and same day our expectations are now so high. If something was a day late it would be the end of the world to people now.

The fact that with credit, few save up for what they want. high priced gifts are so available that kids have all the top of the range electronics and toys all year round. where has their excitement gone for the much yearned after toy or game? they have all the latest things that what do you buy a child for Christmas or birthday. The whole over excitement of these days are gone. We used to struggle to sleep most of December in the hope that Santa would remember that we have been desperate for roller skates or a new doll.

I think I will campaign for the reinstatement of anticipation and hope we can save it before it becomes totally extinct!

Now don't get me started on the extinct skill of common sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do877

I had some instant gratification today, when in the city.
A bloke had set up a stall and was selling fantastic ladies scarves 3 for £5.
I picked 3 for presents but when I look at them at home, they are so beautiful I want to keep them.
Really big and ever so colourful.
