My thought regarding the election ..

If parliament is dissolved ... that means they can't vote, pass laws, do anything that "runs" the country.. so why are they paid... ???

Good point, but someone has to be in control in case of an emergency.
I expect there will be day to day things to do.
It is difficult to know how it works, but if an MP gets kicked out of their local area, then they will have things to tie up before they leave.
