He gave his jacket to me to wash, so I put it in the washer.
Only on pegging the jacket out to dry did I find the licence in the pocket.
Thankfully it was in a plastic cover which mostly protected it , it is now drying out overnight wrapped in kitchen roll.
OH fully taking the blame for not checking his pockets.
Have you ever washed anything accidentally?

Oh yes, the other week I found a couple of tenners in the washing machine, then I remembered I had shoved them in my jacket pocket , intending to put them in my purse & of course completely forgot about them. Fortunately they dried out ok on the radiator, lucky it wasn't a really hot wash!!!!

I nearly threw my phone in the washing machine the other week.
Luckily I realized what was in my hand.

That's one way to get a clean driving license!

I remember my mum washing my dad's wage packet when i was younger. I came home to her drying notes with a hairdryer!

The rule in our house is that you check your own pockets. If you leave cash in there i will see it as a tip for doing the washing!

It's been a long time since I found anything in washer like that, but I sometimes have overlooked the odd tissue in a pocket and oh what a mess it is.

I heard a rattling in the washing machine and thought there was something seriously wrong, to find out my brother had left coins in his jeans pockets and they had come out his pocket and were rattling around the drum.

yes, tissues left in pockets make an awful mess.
