if you need a heat pad  here is how you can make your own.
Cotton socks
uncooked rice


put some uncooked rice into an old sock  tie a knot at the top and heat in a microwave for 20 second increments until it is warm  but not HOT

thanks for this tip, maybe you could add a few bits of dried lavender to it as well

Watch it does not get too dry and then they are liable to smolder.  Best to at times place a saucer of water in as it heats to replace some fluid.
