MOVING ON

Postby Jeanne » 24 Nov 2013, 14:46

My head has been all over the place for the last few days. It would have been my dear Mum's birthday today. She has been gone for three years. She was fine and had a massive stroke and never knew me again. She was in a coma for 14 horrendous months before she died and I cried every day that I saw her. People say that the pain eases, but when?
Almost as bad, it is my daughter Rosie's 25th birthday tomorrow, and they always shared a cake that I made and a little family party. She was extremely close to her Nanny, and has never been the same since. x Jeanne

gpr  Dear Jeanne - I don't think we ever get over the loss of our mother and most of us can identify with this.    The passing of time helps us to adjust to the loss we feel but it is a void in our lives that no-one or nothing else can fill.  Three years is a very short time so no wonder you are feeling as you do.

In spite of the sadness of loss, I hope that tomorrow your daughter's birthday will  be a happy day as you remember with joy the closeness Rosie had with her grandma and the lovely memories of happier times when your mother had good health.

Thankyou Jane and Daisy for your very kind words. We will have a nice time tomorrow, but I am unable to move on yet. I would like to let go, but nobody in the family will talk much about her, my sister wouldn't visit her or come to the funeral, and she is the only one who would really have understood. I suppose that time will ease everything. My heartfelt sympathy to all who are experiencing bereavement, my thoughts and prayers are with you. x Jeanne

Dear Jeanne, it is difficult when Anniversaries and Birthdays come around, I too will have lost my mum 3 years ago this Christmas, she was very close to my daughter, they are together now.

Light a candle for your mum  ca99

I hope it has helped you share this with us, that is what chill is all about, there is always someone here to listen even if it's type talk.

Wishing your daughter a lovely Birthday

Dear Jeanne,
I am thinking of you and Rosie and also your dear Mum. Grieving is a natural process we have to travel through and it is still relatively early days for you. Remember all those good and happy times you shared together. Your mum will always be in your heart so you will never be alone. ca99
Love and supportive hugs xxx

I really feel for you Jeanne. Grieveing is subjective and is different for every person, I still miss my mum after 40 years, but the pain is no longer there, it took me a long time to get over her death as it was sudden & she was only 60, it does get easier though, truly, don't rush it, it is a natural process
