Morning all,

If I disappear its cos I've blown away!! it's not supposed to be too bad here but I beg to differ!!! According to google we have 3mph wind!!! Tell that to my bin that blew over and flew past the window!! Hope everyone is okay. We only have a little gust compared to most of you.

Going out tonight to vampires of rock!! My friend (74) got tickets for his christmas present so we are off for a night of heavy rock music and burst eardrums!! Can't wait!

Doing a demonstration at a beer festival on Saturday of our first responder skills!! I think they want to see equipment not how quick i can down a pint!!

Take care everyone and hope you are all tied down and safe

Good morning, it is awful here, torrential rain, 60mph wind. I heard a loud crash this am & the barge boards below the troughing had ripped off the roof. Fortunately they landed in ours and next door's garden & didn't hurt anyone, or damage anything else. I got all ready to go to Preston for our performance, but then I decided it was too dangerous to drive 20 miles on the motorway  & rang and cancelled & I cancelled our carer too, I am staying in & making a start on wrapping pressies.
Stay safe and stay warm

Been windy here too... heard two calls go out over the radio warning of fallen trees in Norwich.

Had a laugh at one chap as we were driving down Surrey Street to collect a passenger -the wind caught his flat cap and it flew vertically up into the air, level with the top of a two storey building and hovered there for a little while then thankfully dropped to the ground.

It wasn't much fun waiting in the bus at a couple of pic up points as the wind was making the bus rock -like being in a boat !

Hoping that it isn't too bad tonight on the Coast

Hi everyone - weather here horrendous all day, weather forecasters describe it as ferocious.  No trains running in the whole of Scotland today, buses limited and people urged to stay at home - two people have died and lots of property damaged.  The wind is still howling and heavy snow showers. - this morning we have a thunder storm! so a bit of everything today.  I hope for some improvement tomorrow.  Lots of power cuts in Scotland but I am thankful that we have been ok as we are all electric.

Part of the seawall at Cromer has been damaged and the sea has come over onto the Prom near the pier. Six fishermen had to be rescues from the pier -what on earth were they doing there when they knew how bad the weather was likely to be ..the mind boggles !

The buses in Gt Yarmouth have been stopped from 8pm

So you can compare - I went to Cromer on Tuesday and it looked like this then ... imagine the amount of water it took to get it from the pic I took to the one of last night !

Good morning, thank goodness the storm has passed, my thoughts are with those who have been affected by it. My grandson & his girlfriend are in Cumbria in a log cabin . They were without electric for several hours and a tree was uprooted and fell on to the hot tub outside, , inches  from the window, The people in the cabin next door were not so lucky, one landed on the roof and wrecked the place, fortunately no-one was hurt. Have not much planned today, just to go to the butchers & pick up my cropshare & then  a quiet day at home
Hope you have a reasonable day

09klj  Still stormy here - heavy snow showers all last night and today still frosty.  However, we live on the coast of the North Sea but we are fortunate not to have flooding although the tides are very high the sea very angry with huge waves.  Those poor people have to contend with the threat of flooding and all the damage that results from it.    I still haven't written out Christmas cards - must get going with that - I seem to have no motivation.

k6hb

Morning all,

Finally got a chance to come in!! lee has slept a lot the last few days and as the computer is in our room I haven't been able to get in and chat to you all.

had a busy week. Thursday I went with my boating friend to see the Vampire of rock concert with Steve Steinman. it was totally amazing with the most gorgeous lead guitarist.  xmas19Watching his nimble fingers up and down those strings were enough to make me quite over come!!! My ears are still ringing!!

Finally got my Christmas cards written. just need to deliver and post them now!!

My sister's birthday today. I wish I was with her to celebrate not just cos she lives in New Zealand!!

Off to a beer festival this afternoon to raise money and awareness for the first responders group.

Thinking of everyone

Good afternoon - No more snow showers here today so I'm hoping it will not be frosty overnight and that all the snow lying will gradually dissolve.  It is quite slippery underfoot at the moment.  Still thinking of the terrible flood damage so many people have suffered, must be a terrible thing to cope with and so much loss.

I bought more Christmas cards in Tesco today so should have enough - no excuse now, must get them ready for posting.

We received a Christmas card today which I thought was rather strange - it had a picture of 9 or 10 turkeys in a field, just standing around in the snow looking rather sad.

k6hb  Good morning folks - Sunday once again.  Still very dull but a bit milder and thankfully the snow has almost disappeared.  I know that there is a long winter still ahead but for now let's hope for a better spell of weather - especially for those who have so much clearing up to do after flooding.

Just going to see if there are any nice Christmas carols on TV this morning - maybe even Handel's Messiah which I love to hear

Slow cooker working away quietly and smelling good

Hope everyone is managing today  xx.
