I was going dragon hunting this morning, and I saw a chap looking at something in Bishopgate, he waited a while then walked on. When I got nearer I realised it was a huge wood pigeon sitting in the road appearing rather shocked. I couldn't leave it so I stood there a few minutes waving the few cars round it - I didn't pick it up in case it was hurt, no blood or anything so I think it was just stunned. It came to a bit and I put my foot near it just to try and shoo it back onto the kerb. It looked at me waddled along a bit then hopped on the kerb, then suddenly took off and flew up and over the St Helen's Church in Bishopgate .. what a relief it was all right.

The came the exciting bit.. I heard the loud screech of a peregrine, I looked up and a peregrine flew low over the road with a huge gull right behind it, the peregrine shot over some trees near the Cathedral and the gull flew back to its perch on top of St Helens Church.

When I got to the Peregrine Watch point in the Cathedral Close (dragon hunting there as well), I told them about what I had see. They told me it was most likely one of the youngsters having a go at hunting - the wood pigeon - which was way too big for it, the pigeon got a fright but as it was too big, it got away. The gull then spotted the peregrine and chased it away from what was possibly its nest on top of the church tower..

I looked later and he was feeding, parents must have been back with food.
He is still there now in the nest.
