A person who sticks in my mind, and I think about him more with the 100th anniv of WW1 coming up is Great-Great Uncle Percy, my Great-Great Aunt Ada's Hubby. I must have been about 3 and a half as he passed away in 1962. He had been in WW1 and had been gassed, hardly ever saw him as he used to be ill in bed with lung problems a lot of the time. I do remember one visit to see them in Wisbech.. Mum n Dad had bought a little practice handwriting book in Woolies in the town. Me n Uncle Percy sat in the lounge by a window in their little terrace house next to the Wisbech to Upwell "Tramway". he drew me some lovely little sketches of daffodils in the book. He drew them very well, how I wish I still had that little book as a reminder.Statistics: Posted by chenrezig — 03 Apr 2014, 06:04
