My mind is in a muddle at the moment.

Can a carer receive carers allowance if the person she cares for works full time.
He has various illnesses and has Parkinsons disease.

To receive carers allowance they must care for at least 35 hours a week.
But how can they do that if the person is working full time!

I do believe yes.
If the disabled person is supported in and to work, and has to be supported at home too.
DLA helps disabled people to continue working. It might not be a physical job, but something they are able to do to contribute to society and prove they are an important part of society.
Perhaps switchboard/computer related etc.
Maybe this person needs lots of help with daily shopping/cleaning/transport /bathing / cooking / night time awareness and attendance, to enable them to continue working. And to get them up and ready to go to work.
That's when their carer works their 35 hours plus per week .

I know they get DLA for care in the medium rate, so I guess you have solved the problem.
But if they work and receive DLA I would say their income is more than another carer who has to rely on carers allowance alone.

thinking about it, it seems the sort of things a normal wife would do for a husband!!!

Wendy, whatever benefits they get ( I don't know anything about them )
they are legally entitled to them.

yes thanks Honey, I had looked into it, but I keep thinking however did they fill in the forms for DLA if the person was working.
Things must have changed dramatically.
