Thought I would give an you an update. On the 1st June I had a CT scan of my neck and abdomen. My swallow is going to take a long time to put right, so it was recommended that I have a PEG put in my tum, instead of having a tube down by throaty. I go into hospital on 7th July for three nights and it will be done under local anaesthetic. I went last Thursday to see the consultant for my CT scan results, the news was not good. The cancer has spread to a gland behind my artery in my neck and under my arm, as well as being in my lungs. So the op on my lungs will not be done with the cancer spreading. The next step is chemo to shrink the tumours, I see the consultant next Thursday 30th June . I am still here to fight another day.

I have been to the hospital today and had an appointment with the Oncologist. She has told me that she agrees with what my consultant has said. That as I am well and have no symptoms not have any chemo until I have symptoms, as the chemo has bad side effects. The chemo works for one in five, if it does not work on me, I will be sent to the Bobby Robson Centre within the Freeman Hospital. They deal with all sorts of drugs for cancer, she says there are many options for me. I feel positive about it all.
