Doesn't really matter what we think, there is no money, so carers are not going to get more money whoever is in government & while we give 24hour care with no thanks and little remuneration, saving the govt millions, nothing will change

For those who are unfortunate to have to claim council tax and housing benefit if they were given more money in CA they would lose these benefits and have pay full council tax and rents and I doubt they would be any better off, but that is just my opinion having been there and done that.

When family carers need outside help from paid carers if their hourly rate was a liveable wage that would encourage the right people to go into the profession, again this is my personal opinion having been on both sides for many years.

What will happen to us family unpaid carers when we might eventually need care and haven't got the finances to afford it because we haven't been able to work /pay into a pension/ etc.
We save the state billions by being unpaid family carers.

Carers never get paid enough and respite for carers is often non existent. For me to get 24 hours off caring it would cost around £800!!

I do agree with you all, we will just have to make the best of what we have.
