Information Alert – ‘Copycat’ blue badge ‘application’ websites – 23 August 2016
Norfolk Trading Standards are again warning about ‘copycat’ websites after receiving further reports from residents who have paid inflated fees to websites which appear to offer online Blue Badge applications.

These websites, which look like they are offering an application route, are in fact charging fees, usually around £50, to ‘prepare’ an application which the consumer will then have to submit to the genuine authority to process the application and still pay the application fee which for an application in Norfolk is £10.

Anyone looking to apply for or to renew a blue badge application online is advised to ensure they are using the correct website:

Norfolk residents can apply online at www.norfolk.gov.uk/bluebadges

Outside of Norfolk visit www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badge

You can read more information about ‘copycat’ websites here.
