Research Study - Dementia carers in Norfolk

Postby wendy » 08 Aug 2016, 17:24

resilience, well-being and use of social support settings
Healthwatch Norfolk are working in collaboration with the University of East Anglia to find out about the needs and experiences of local carers who are supporting a relative with dementia.
In April 2015 local unpaid family carers told Healthwatch Norfolk that Dementia Cafés and support groups provide invaluable information for people with dementia and their carers. Now the University of East Anglia is carrying out research to understand how supporting someone living with dementia effects people’s resilience and well-being and whether attending a café or other social support setting has an impact on this.
If you provide regular, unpaid care for a family member with dementia in Norfolk, you may be interested to take part in this research.
If you agree to take part you will be asked to complete a survey which asks questions about how dementia affects the person you look after and how being a carer affects your daily life. If you attend a dementia café or other support group you will be asked about the activities you take part in there. The survey takes about 35 minutes to complete but it does not need to be completed all in one go and can be done at your own pace.
